Time has flown since my last post, mainly due to getting a pretty nasty throat infection/flu late last week. Lindsay suffered through it first, and as she's a loving and giving individual, she found a way to pass the gift along :-) Now it's kind of a bittersweet event, getting sick before traveling, as the sweet part is we're both unlikely to come down with any colds during the trip. However, it's also bitter in the sense that the cold severely crippled Lindsay and I each for about five days. Within that time, we were unable to work, walk, or do pretty much anything except drool, cough, and sneeze. This left many loose ends unable to be tied off in a calm and sorted manner, making this past week just awful. At first I was thinking it could be explained in terms of karma, having such a wonderful gift ahead of us this month, but then I looked at our bank book and said no way. I like to think the price tag more than makes up for karma, lol.
Anywho, the ends have mostly been tied, with just a few last minute errands to run today and tomorrow. Boring stuff mainly, so I won't go into those details. Lindsay and I are mostly packed though, and there isn't much left on the checklist!
Our flight leaves at 8:30pm our time on Monday night, and arrives in Paris, France, at 9:50am their time Tuesday Morning. There's a six-hour time difference, with them being six hours ahead, so we'll actually be arriving at 3:50am our time. There's sure to be a little jet lag going out, but we're hoping that the adrenaline of the experience will help keep us awake on that first day... we'll see, lol. Ideally we'd be able to get a power nap in on the flight, but that's not super likely. Also, we figure if we can sleep in on Monday as long as possible, that might help as well. When I was thinking of things to do that first day, I figured to keep it light and just go see some the major sites like the Triumphal Arch, and the Eiffel Tower. We'll see how that all goes :-)
We're planning to try and keep this blog up to date every four days or so, who knows, or maybe even more. Be sure to check in :-) That's it for now, the next time I post, we'll be in Paris!!! Au revoir mes amis!
