Sometimes I love having tonnes of stuff happening, while other times it's so much nicer to slow down and just vegetate. This weekend is one of the former types of weekends that begins tonight. One of me and Lindsay's friends is having a party tonight at a house that she house-sits usually once a year... though the word house doesn't do this place any justice... this place is a freakin' palace! It's gigantic. Their washroom is like the size of our master bedroom. (k, that was a bit of an exaggeration.) Anyways, we've got that tonight which should be fun, and then tomorrow is another big day. We're going out to get some doors for our basement. You see when we bought our place, we almost did everything we wanted to the interior before we moved in, as many of you may recall. We painted the place head-to-toe, with an AMAZING deal on paint with the help of my best friend growing up, and an amazing job by the 20 some odd people who came that day to help us paint. I put down the hardwood floor in the living room/dining room, and had the basement carpeted. I wired up new lighting in the basement and the home theatre, and installed baseboards down there. We also managed to fully furnished our place, including a quaint guest room. As you can clearly guess though, that left us broke, like a pumpkin thrown from a balcony... not that I'd ever do that... :-) Anywho, we had everything done except that our basement has a long hallway that leads into the 'man cave', and along the hall on the one side are doorway openings that expose our laundry equipment, hot water heater, and furnace. They need doors, badly... they're feeling a wee naked and exposed... you know, a little drafty.
So that's this Saturday, I've already scoped out some doors and did my pricing for budgeting purposes, now I just have to show Lindsay the doors and see if she's cool with them. If so, then we'll be purchasing the doors, and probably getting started on putting them up tomorrow. Once that's done, I just have to build a cabinet around the electrical panel, and BOOYA! our interior will be completed... until babies come out of my wife and we have to change everything around upstairs for what will be the coolest nursery EVER! Well, at least for the size of house we have. (You like how I said 'till babies come out of my wife'? I thought it was rather humorous.)
So then on Sunday Linds and I are on worship team for our church, which is always a good time, it just means we have to wake up early which most of you know just isn't something that we do very willingly... mmmmmm.... sleeeeeeeep.... After church Lindsay is throwing a wedding shower for our friend Liz, while R.J., her groom to be, will join me in the 'Man Cave' for mass XBOX360 playage... is that a word? It should be.
I think that's pretty much it. Then starts another week. I hope to have the doors up by the end of the Easter long weekend. We'll see how that pans out. Oooh, good news for me, I've become a fat burning machine and have dropped 16 lbs since starting to workout again and watching what I eat. GOODTIMES! Also my brother has been getting into shape again and has dropped 25 lbs in the same amount of time. Kudo's to him!
Finally, I can't WAIT until the May long weekend now! As always, Lindsay and I have plans to go up to The Soo to see our good friends Amy and Joel. Now it's extra special because a few of my best friends are coming in from out of province and are gonna hang out with Linds and I at our place the Thursday night before the weekend! They also have two of the cutest babies ever which I'll get to goo goo ga ga at. Actually, now that I think of it, babies are the theme of that weekend, since Amy and Joel have the other cutest baby ever which we'll be seeing! Sa-weet!
